Energy Services

Powering Community Growth

Avoid costly delays by addressing grid requirements, permitting, and constraints early in your utility-scale renewable energy project.

It Takes More Than Just the ‘Right’ Site

Utility-scale solar, wind, or battery storage projects need a clear path to the grid and a plan that holds up during construction.

Our experience across 150+ solar projects and nearly five million metres of medium-voltage cable helps you make early decisions based on a clearer view of cost, schedule, and field requirements.

Get on the Grid

Utility-scale generation, battery storage, electrical infrastructure, and connection, working as a single system.

  • Pre-Construction Planning

Site conditions, collection routes, utility conflicts, permit requirements, cost, and schedule are reviewed before fieldwork begins, so issues can be resolved before crews are on site.

    • Project Feasibility

    • Construction Review

  • Grid Interconnection

Interconnection plans are aligned with utility and transmission-owner requirements, including constructability at the point of connection and the infrastructure needed to support it.

    • Permitting Support

    • Staging & Logistics

    • Electrical Transition Planning

  • Medium-Voltage Infrastructure

Underground feeders and collection circuits are installed using plowing or trenching suited to the site, then spliced, tested, and commissioned before energization.

    • Conduit & Duct Banks

    • Transformer Pads

    • Substation Support

  • Civil & Underground Construction

Site access and electrical routes are prepared through grading, road construction, excavation, trenching, conduit placement, erosion control, and restoration.

    • Environmental Controls

    • Erosion Control

    • Site Rehabilitation

Why ROHL

Over 150 Solar Farms Connected

Changing ground conditions can complicate cable routes and installation. Our experience helps you account for them early, reducing changes during construction and delays to grid connection.

  • ∼5M Linear Feet of Cable Installed

Across utility-scale solar sites, building firsthand knowledge of cable handling, installation sequencing, and large systems.

  • Utility-Scale Specialists

Solar and BESS projects for developers, EPC contractors, utilities, and Indigenous development corporations.

  • Long-term Partnerships

We structure projects around economics, partner roles, and long-term alignment with First Nations and government.

Frequently asked Questions

  1. 01

What types of energy projects does ROHL support?

ROHL works on utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects. We do not provide residential or rooftop solar installations.

  2. 02

Does a project need to include both generation and battery storage?

No. We support standalone generation projects, standalone battery storage projects, and combined generation-plus-storage builds.

  3. 03

What grid interconnection support do you provide?

We handle the medium-voltage electrical work required to bring a generation or storage asset to the point of interconnection, coordinating with the utility and other project stakeholders along the way.

  4. 04

Can you handle both civil and medium-voltage work?

Yes. Our crews self-perform civil construction and medium-voltage electrical deployment, so generation and storage projects can be delivered under one scope rather than split across separate contractors.
