We are ramping up for our busy time of year and are looking for reliable, skilled Fiber Optic Cable Jetters to join our Alberta team!
The Fiber Optic Cable Jetter plays a vital role by assisting in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses to support ROHL’s Operations Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Jetting equipment in compliance equipment operating procedures and ROHL’s safety policies and procedures
- Understand handling principles of fibre optic cable, ensuring cable is flowing/jetting smoothly and without damage
- Executes the daily plan and work sequence under the direction of the Supervisor, interpreting blueprints/job specifications
- Perform high-quality work according to specifications
- Ensure tools & equipment are constantly kept in a safe, operational condition
- Clean and perform basic maintenance to equipment
- Clean up of jobsite including regrading areas, back filling and leveling of surrounding ground
- Check machinery before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Assist crew with related tasks
Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience working with underground cable placing equipment (Jetting equipment)
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license clean abstract
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Strong logical/critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills
- High level of personal integrity and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in an effective, safety-conscious manner
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work outside in extreme temperatures
- Able to meet the physical conditions of the position, ie sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 100 lbs, working in confined spaces
Additional Information:
- Work Rotation: 28 work days / 10 non-work days
- Hours: Typically 10-12 hour work days
